Craigellachie Distillery
Craigellachie Distillery is located in the village of the same name in the Speyside region, on the banks of the River Spey in Scotland. Founded in 1891 by Peter Mackie and Alexander Edward, Craigellachie has a rich history and is known for its robust and characterful single malt whiskies.
A unique feature of Craigellachie is the use of worm tubs, a traditional cooling system that contributes to the full and complex flavour profile of their whiskies. The distillery uses pure spring water from nearby Blue Hill, which adds to the clarity and purity of their whiskies. Craigellachie whiskies are known for their firm, full-bodied character with notes of citrus, tropical fruits and a subtle spiciness.
The whisky is mainly matured in ex-bourbon casks, which ensures a balanced and deep flavour. Craigellachie produces whiskies that are appreciated both in blends and single malts. The combination of a beautiful location, traditional techniques and a unique flavour profile makes Craigellachie a respected name in the world of Scotch whisky.
Cadenhead
Cadenhead, known in full as William Cadenhead Ltd, is the world's oldest independent bottler of Scotch whisky. Founded in 1842 in Aberdeen, Scotland, the company is known for its high-quality, authentic whiskies and other spirits. Cadenhead has a long and rich history and enjoys worldwide esteem among whisky lovers and collectors.
History
Cadenhead was founded in 1842 by George Duncan, but soon William Cadenhead, Duncan's brother-in-law, took over the company. Under his leadership, the company grew into a respected name in the whisky trade. Initially known as a wine and spirits merchant, Cadenhead soon developed into a leading bottler of Scotch whisky. In 1972, the company was sold to J. & A. Mitchell & Co. Ltd, the parent company of Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown. This marked a new phase in Cadenhead's history, integrating the company with one of Scotland's best-known distilleries.
