Dalwhinnie Distillery
Dalwhinnie Distillery is located in the Scottish Highlands, in the eponymous village of Dalwhinnie, known as one of the highest and coldest inhabited places in Scotland. Established in 1897, the distillery benefits from the clear mountain air and pure water from the Lochan-Doire-Uaine spring.
A unique feature of Dalwhinnie is the use of this pure spring water, which contributes to the whisky's light and delicate character. The distillery is known for its smooth, honeyed single malts with notes of heather, vanilla and subtle herbal notes. Dalwhinnie uses traditional copper pot stills and matures its whisky mainly in ex-bourbon casks, ensuring a balanced and refined flavour profile.
Dalwhinnie's location, on the border of the Highland and Speyside regions, gives the whisky a unique combination of influences from both areas. The distillery is an important stop on the famous Malt Whisky Trail and remains loved by whisky connoisseurs for its distinctive and accessible style. The combination of traditional techniques, a unique location and a refined flavour profile makes Dalwhinnie a respected name in the world of Scotch whisky.
