Mac-Talla Oloroso Sherry Cask Matured 5cl

As you may know, Mac-Talla is a single malt whisky originating from the well-known island of Islay. The home of the peated whisky. Mac-Talla, labeled with the old ferry ticket to Islay, has since become a very popular whisky. And given the quality of Mac-Talla, we can only understand that.

In addition to the always available Mac-Talla Terra, the cask strength Mac-Talla Mara and the 15-year-old Mac-Talla Strata, a special edition is bottled once a year. And this year that is a Mac-Talla that is aged entirely in former sherry casks made from European oak. 12 sherry butts in total, including 8 first fill and 4 refill sherry butts. The Islay whisky aged in these casks all its life was heavily peated, namely between 30ppm and 40ppm.

Nose

Peat smoke, phenols and spice.

Taste

A powerful dram with warm spice, rich dark fruits and a big dollop of peat. Brown sugar and baking spices reminiscent of Christmas with a peat fire burning in the background.

Finish

Long and lingering.
